mood board and ideas for comic
Mood board annotation
The detective comics cover is clearly different from the rest of the images as it is the most detailed of all of the drawings, this is because the front cover of the comic was supposed to draw people in and once inside the drawings were made quickly and to a set style.
The two next biggest images I have chosen to show how the actual character was drawn and how much detail they put into the drawings, especially in the backgrounds. I also noticed that the Batman’s expression doesn’t change in any of the drawings.
The next three smaller images I have chosen to show action, I wanted to see how the artist portrayed movement and action poses so that I could try and replicate this, I noticed that in one of the drawings the proportions are slightly off showing that there was some leniency in the drawings.
The two smallest drawings I have used are to show detail and how things would look if they were smaller on the cover, for example the buildings in the background of the drawing with the car are very simple and low detail.

Ideas
Superhero- light with bold colours, strong independent main character.
Villain- dark, complex comic with main focus, sinister.
Animal- more childish and cartoony, comical.
Children’s- has to be understandable with little amounts of text, cartoony.
Adult- dark, humorous, violent, multiple story lines.
Detective- complex, varying themes, one or two main characters.
Mystery- plot heavy, varying themes, no general main character but needs a structured character as a lead.
Making an Adult/Villain comic with one main character and possibly lots of violence or action, the comic will be dark with simple text but a complex story line.
